How I Write 3 - Music

One of the things about writing on a computer is the ease of slipping in a CD and having music to write by. But it can be a trap. If play songs with lyrics, I find it distracting  at times. The options, though are neat.

Sometimes I like playing movie music. Soundtracks, movie themes, no words but sweeping, emotion laden stuff nonetheless. I find that even instrumentals can change the tone of my writing depending on the mood of the music. I have to tailor the music to the types of scenes I am writing at the time. It is hard to write sensitive text with heavy metal thumping in the background.
