Check out the trailer for the upcoming adaptation of The Goldfinch

Warner Brothers have shared a quick trailer for the upcoming adaptation of The Goldfinch, Donna Tartt's Pulitzer Prize winning novel.

Directed by Irish filmmaker John Crowley (Brooklyn), the film stars Ansel Elgort (Baby Driver), Nicole Kidman, Sarah Paulson, Finn Wolfhard, Ashleigh Cummings and Luke Wilson.

The film follows Theodore Decker (played by Elgort), whose life is changed when at 13 years old he and his mother are caught in a bombing at the Metropolital Museum of Art in New York. He survives yet his mother tragically dies - in the wreckage he salvages a painting of a goldfinch chained to a perch. He retains the painting as he grows up and becomes embroiled in shady business dealings.

Donna Tartt's original novel won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction among many other awards, and spent over 30 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list. Judging by the trailer and a star-studded cast, the film looks like it'll live up to the book's hype!

The film comes out in September - in the meantime, check out the trailer below!
