Roadshow Films have released the first trailer for their film adaptation of Leah Purcell's The Drover's Wife: The legend of Molly Johnson written, directed and starring Leah Purcell as her debut feature.

Leah Purcell's novel follows Molly Johnson, a woman left alone to care for her four children at her Snowy Mountains homestead, when her husband is away droving cattle. Yadaka, an Aboriginal man on the run, arrives on the homestead and asks Molly for shelter.

Leah Purcell wrote and directed the adaptiation of her novel, and also stars as Molly Johnson. The film also stars Angela Littlejohn, David Jowsey, Bain Stewart and Greer Simpkin. The film will be in Australian cinemas October 14 - watch the trailer below!
