The new TV series ‘Reacher’ which is based on Lee’s Childs mystery series has been renewed for a second season just days after premiering on February 4.

Alan Ritchson plays the character Jack Reacher, the ex-military policeman in Lee Child’s popular mystery-thriller series.

Season one follows the story arc of Child’s 1997 debut novel Killing Floor, which won the Anthony Award and Barry Award for Best First Novel. In Killing Floor Jack Reacher is passing through Margave, Georgia, when he is unexpectedly arrested for murder. The novel follows Jack as he attempts to prove his innocence and uncovers a conspiracy.

Amazon stated that within 24 hours of premiering, ‘Reacher’ had ranked in its top five most-watched series in the US – keeping in mind that all eight episodes were released together.

Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios said:‘The phenomenal debut of Reacher is a testament to Lee Child’s creation of one of entertainment’s most well-known heroes, Nick Santora’s original approach to the storytelling, Alan’s brilliant embodiment of the character, and the dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera to make such an undeniably bingeworthy series.’
