Orange Readers and Writers Festival 5 - 6 August

This year’s Orange Readers and Writers Festival, hosted by Central West Libraries, will include a variety of non-fiction and fiction authors.

The Readers and Writers Festival will be held at the Hotel Canobolas on Saturday 6 August coinciding with the Winter Fire Festival. The program will include a variety of non-fiction and fiction authors such as Robert Tickner (Ten Doors Down: The Story of an Extraordinary Adoption), Petronella McGovern (The Liars), Michael Brissenden (Dead Letters), Helen Ennis (Olive Cotton: A Life of Photography), and Todd Alexander (You’ve Got to be Kidding: A Shedload of Wine and Farm Full of Goats).

There will also be a History Writing Workshop with Rebecca Wilson author of Kate Kelly: the true story of Ned Kelly’s Little Sister on Friday 5 August.

In this workshop you will gain practical tips for developing a literary project based on historic sources and stories. Rebecca Wilson will share insight into her writing process for the biography of Kate Kelly, specifically the local stories and historical records she drew from in building this narrative.

Tickets for the main festival on 6 August are $75 before 15 July, and $95 after and include morning tea and lunch. Book tickets here
