New Dragon Tattoo Trilogy in the works

The character Lisbeth Salander from Stieg Larsson's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is coming back in a new trilogy to be written by Swedish author Karin Smirnoff. 

The first book in the series is set to be released in 2023 in the US by Knof, and is yet to be titled. 

This novell will be the seventh in the bestselling and award winning 'Millenium' series. The first three books; The Girl with the Dragon TattooThe Girl Who Played with Fire, and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest were written by Larsson.

The following three books in the series; The Girl in the Spider's WebThe Girl Who Takes an Eye for an Eye, and The Girl Who Lived Twice were written by Swedish author Davif Lagercrantz after the death of Larsson.

The books follow Lisbeth Salander, a computer hacker and Mikael Blomkvist, a journalist, as they attempt to solve various crimes. 

In a statement  about her new trilogy, Karin Smirnoff said: 'I will continue to build on Stieg Larsson’s core themes, such as violence, abuse of power, and contemporary political currents.'
