With over 150 books in the series the 10 episodes with have a huge wealth of material to draw from as it transposes the material from the original 1980s series into the modern day.

The upcoming reboot marks the first time The Babysitters Club has been adapted to screen since the 1990s. Author Ann M Martin has said of the series, "I’m honored to continue to hear from readers — now grown, who have become writers, editors, teachers, librarians, filmmakers — who say that they see a reflection of themselves in the characters of Kristy and her friends.
