A Kurt Vonnegut docco 30 years in the making is finally hitting theatres

A Kurt Vonnegut documentary that has been in development for over thirty years is finally heading to theatres, according to director Robbert Weide.

Vonnegut was an American writer of absurdist and satirical works, including Slaughterhouse-Five, Cat's Cradle and Breakfast of Champions.

Known for his directorial role on the television series 'Curb Your Enthusiasm', Weide first began filming interviews with Vonnegut in 1988. The project began in 1982 when Weide wrote a letter to Vonnegut pitching a documentary on the writer's life. To Weide's suprise, Vonnegut responded, and the pair quickly became close friends as they worked on the film together untill Vonnegut's passing in 2007.
