Garth Nix sells film & TV rights to The Keys to the Kingdom series

Herschend Entertainment Studios has acquired the film and television righs for Garth Nix's fantasy The Keys to the Kingdom. Nix himself will serve as executive producer for the project. 

The seven-book fantasy series follows 12-year-old Arthur Penhaligon, the reluctant "Rightful Heir to the House", as he battles the seven treasonous trustees who rule the universe. Beginning with Mister Monday in 2003, the series has gone on to win a variety of awards - the series makes up a large chunk of the 5 million books Nix has sold worldwide. 

It's unsure what form the adaption will take at this stage, but alongside the upcoming Frogkisser! adaption from Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios, the future is looking bright for Nix fans.
