Take a tour of Jane Austen's house without leaving your own!

Take a tour of Jane Austen's house without leaving your own!

If you're fancying a bookish escape but aren't yet comfortable with travelling, why not take a tour of Jane Austen's house?

The Jane Austen House Museum in Chawton, Hampshire is offering free 360-degree virtual tours of the house Austen lived in from 1809 to 1817, where she wrote all six of her novels.

Normally, the museum offers a wide range of interactive activities, including trying on period-accurate costumes, and writing with the equipment Austen would have used. Unfortunately the museum has had to operate with a number of restrictions since reopening August 8, so they decided to do the next best thing - an immersive virtual tour!

Click here to embark on the virtual tour. The museum is also holding a virtual party to celebrate Jane Austen's 245th birthday on December 16th (Dec. 17 in Australia) - click here for tickets!
