Suzanne Collins to release Hunger Games Prequel in 2020

Suzanne Collins and Scholastic announces they will be publishing a sequel to the best selling Hunger Games trilogy in May 2020.

Currently without a title (being referred to as Untitled Panem Novel) it is set to take place 64 years before the events of the first novel, long before the journey of Katniss Everdeen.

In a statement, author Suzanne Collins said the novel will explore the so-called "dark days" following the failed rebellion in Panem:

"With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival," she said. "The reconstruction period 10 years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days — as the country of Panem struggles back to its feet — provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity."

Collins has reportedly already been working closely with Lionsgate, the studio responsible for the four Hunger Games film adaptions, vis a vis adaption this prequel to screen. Safe to say there are plenty of things in store for those who want a little more Hunger Games in their life!
