A star-studded Bridehead Revisited remake is coming to TV

A remake of Evelyn Waugh Brideshead Revisited is coming to the small screen, with Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name) at the helm.

It marks the third time the classic has been adapted after an 1981 series starring Jeremy Irons, and a theatrical film in 2008. The upcoming remake will be a joint miniseries productio between the BBC and HBO.

First released in 1945, Brideshead Revisited takes place between the first and second world wars, and follows Charles Ryder's obsession with the wealthy Flyte family. Andrew Garfield (The Social Network) is set to play Charles Ryder, with Joe Alwyn (The Favourite) playing Sebastian Flyte. Julia Flyte wil be played by Rooney Mara (Carol), and Ralp Fienes and Cate Blanchett are in negotiations to play Lord and Lady Flyte, respectively.

Filming will begin in the first quarter of 2021, with an expected release of late 2021 or 2022. We'll keep you updated with the latest news, especially how and when you can stream it in Australia!
