This Thursday's Australian Reading Hour is the biggest yet

This Thursday's Australian Reading Hour is the biggest yet

With over 240 events, 60 author ambassadors and over 4300 other Aussies participating, there's no better time to join in with this year's Australian Reading Hour. This Thursday (19 August), simply pick up a book and read it for an hour!

Events around Australia include Noni Hazlehurst reading a new Leigh Hobbs book for Story Box Library, Story Dogs and Matt Stanton at the Sydney Opera House, and Mick Elliot and Oliver Phommavanh engaging in a storytelling battle at the Floriaed festival in Canberra.

If you're in Brisbane, 2000 books will be given away on Brisbane buses. Translink staff will be handing out books from 7am at King George Square Bus Station  - so why not get a good read to enjoy on your morning commute?

It's not to late to make a pledge or register an event. Simply head to the Australian Reading Hour site for all the info.
