ABA: 2020 Booksellers’ Choice awards announced

The Australian Booksellers Association have announced the winners of the 2020 Booksellers’ Choice Book of the Year Awards, which span three separate categories for the first time.

There Was Still Loveby Favel Parrett, and The Yield by Tara June Winch were announced the joint winner of the Adult Fiction Book of the Year.

See What You Made Me Do by Jess Hill was awarded Booksellers Choice – Adult Non-Fiction.

Bruce Pascoe’s Young Dark Emu: a truer history, took Children’s Book of the Year.

All of these authors have seen recent success with these books.

There Was Still Love won Book of the Year at the 2020 Indie Book Awards, while The Yield swept the 2020 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards, winning Book of the Year, the Christina Stead Prize for Fiction and the People’s Choice Awards.

See What You Made Me Do won the 2020 Stella Prize, and Young Dark Emu has been shortlisted for numerous accolades in 2020.
